Working on Viking River Cruises offers the opportunity to work in a modern hotel environment and sail on
the most famous rivers in Europe. An international team, American clientele, and a season from March to
November, during which you work in shifts - 2 months of work/2 weeks of vacation!
WORKING FOR VIKING IS MORE THAN A JOB - IT’S A CAREER
- 4/5-star modern river cruise ships
- 32 to 50 crew members per ship
- 112 to 198 guests per ship
- Predominantly American, Australian, and British clientele
- Swiss or French employment contracts
- Covered health, social, and pension insurance, unemployment insurance, and child allowances
- Automatic salary increase after the season
- Bonus at the end of the season based on the number of days worked
- Provided accommodation and meals
- Reimbursed travel expenses
- Modern cabins with internet (Wi-Fi)

- Entitlement to paid leave every 6-8 weeks 2/3-month rotations throughout the season (approximately 2 months on board and 10-14 days paid leave)

OBSADZOVANÉ POZÍCIE:
CHEF DE RANG (RESTAURANT WAITER) Previous experience in 4-5 star service is required, as well as a good command of the English language. |
TRAINEE CHEF DE RANG (TRAINEE RESTAURANT WAITER) Only limited work experience is required, along with a good command of the English language. |
STATEROOM STEWARD-ESS (HOUSEKEEPING) Previous experience in housekeeping and knowledge of the English language are required. |
TRAINEE STATEROOM STEWARD-ESS (TRAINEE HOUSEKEEPING) Only limited work experience is required, along with a good command of the English language. |
GUEST SERVICES AGENT Previous experience at a hotel reception and good communication skills in English are required. |
SOUS CHEF (COOK) Previous experience in a 4 - 5* service position, good knowledge of English is required. |
CHEF DE PARTIE (COOK) Previous experience in a 4 - 5* service position, good knowledge of English is required. |
COMMIS DE CUISINE (ASSISTANT COOK) Previous experience in the position, knowledge of English required. |
TRAINEE COMMIS DE CUISINE (ASSISTANT COOK) No experience required, English language proficiency required. |
UTILITY Experience with manual work and knowledge of English are required. |

PLACE OF WORK:
- River cruise ships sailing in Europe - Rhine, Danube, Moselle, Elbe, Rhône and Seine Slovakia, Hungary, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland...
- Assignment to a specific ship takes place after an interview according to the needs of the shipping company
START DATE:
- Season 2025 - The season runs from February/March to November/December
- During the season, you work approximately 6-8 weeks at a time, followed by a break/vacation of approximately 10-14 days.
- Days during breaks/vacations are paid by the employer.
