WORKING FOR VIKING IS MORE THAN A JOB - IT’S A CAREER  

  • 4*/5* modern river cruise ships
  • 32 to 50 Crew per ship
  • 112 to 198 guests per ship
  • Predominantly American, Australian and British clientele
  • Swiss or French employment contracts
  • Health, social security, pension, unemployment insurance and child benefits covered
  • Automatic salary increase after the end of the season (from 2023)
  • End-of-season bonus based on the number of days worked (from 2023)
  • Accommodation and meals provided
  • Reimbursed travel expenses
  • Modern cabins with free internet (Wi-Fi)
  • Full uniform provided
  • Entitlement to paid leave every 6-8 weeks
  • 2/3 month rotations throughout the season (rotation is approximately 2 months on the boat and 10 - 14 days paid leave)

  • Possibility for inexperienced candidates to join the boat by first completing extensive training, culminating in a certificate - Viking Newcomer Training
  • Work opportunities also for students for 2 to 4 months during the summer holidays

 

Workplace: river cruise ships sailing in Europe - Rhine, Danube, Moselle, Elbe, Rhône and Seine

  • Slovak Republic, Hungary, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland...
  • Assignment to a specific ship takes place after an interview according to the needs of the shipping company

 

Communication language on board: English

 

Start date: to be negotiated

  • Season runs from approx. March to November/December
  • During the season you work for approx. 6 - 8 weeks straight and then take approx. 10 - 14 days off/holidays. The days off/holidays are paid by the employer.
